Hi-Fi Expo Sofia 2010 was the very first official event, dedicated to hi-fi high-end audio-video technologies and innovations in Bulgaria, held in Grand Hotel Sofia, 3rd to 6th of June, 2010. Kirov High-End did not miss the chance to please its customers with sound of highest quality during the show! With over 40 well-known great names in High-End Industry, our team was welcoming music lovers, passionate audiophiles and luxury-goods aficionados in 5 of the rooms of Grand Hotel Sofia. Below is a short description of each stereo-system assembly: Room 304: On the opposite side of the room was placed an elegant composition of the Swedish speakers Mårten Form Floor with ceramic drivers in white high gloss boxes, MBL 1531 CD-Player and MBL 7008 integrated stereo-amp. Room 305: The Top stereo-system in this room could be called “high-end beyond reference” without any doubts! The Canadian coherent speakers Hansen The King V2, well-known for its realistic and high-resolution sound performance, powered by pair of the legendary Halcro DM88 mono-amplifiers and pre-amplifier DM10. The ultimate source in this system was the best and most prestigious CD-player world-wide - the Scarlatti by dCS – English perfection in four masterpiece components: Digital to Analog Converter, CD/SACD Upsampling Transport, Master Clock, Upsampler with USB interface. All these components in perfect harmony with the Transrotor Apollon TMD turntable. One of the most interesting speakers concepts on dysplay during the show were the Duevel Venus speakers, which create a multi-dimensional 360˚ sound picture. The components in the system: pair of Cyrus Mono X mono-amps, Cyrus Pre VS2 pre-amplifier, Digital to Analog Converter Cyrus DAC XP, pair of Cyrus PCX-R external power supply and CD8SE Transport.
On the right – the Avanti loudspeakers by Audio Physic with Moon W 5.3 RS stereo-amplifier, Moon i-5.3 RS pre-amplifier and CD-player Moon CD 5.3 RS.
On the left – made in Germany with unique signature – the Burmester Classic line stereo-system, including pair of B25 loudspeakers, 061 CD-player, 956 МК2 stereo amplifier and 035 pre-amplifier, with rack and cables by the very same brand. This „small” stereo-system made the listeners to get Goosebumps and to smile of amazement and excitement. Burmester Audiosysteme is one of the most respected high-end manufacturers world-wide. The company is well-known not only for its home high-end audio systems but also with its ingenuine approach in the car-audio division with the successful Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Panamera and Bugatti Veyron surround-sound projects. Room 306: Central – the XRT28 speakers by the masters of power - McIntosh Laboratories, powered by two 500 Watt mono-amplifiers MC501 and SACD-player MCD 301. For the vacuum tube fans was included optionally the legendary vacuum tube MC275 stereo-amplifier. On the right: the overwhelming Usher BE20, with Beryllium high-frequency drivers, combined with pair of NuForce Reference 9 SE V2 mono amps, NuForce P-9 pre-amplifier and MBL 1431 CD-Player. The Signature S8 loudspeakers by Paradigm, which were one of the most appreciated speakers at Hi-Fi Expo 2010, were on the opposite side. The stereo-system included Anthem P2 stereo-amplifier, Benchmark DAC1 Pre and Bryston BCD-1 CD-Player. Room 307 – Where design and sound blows you away! To present our avant-garde designers speakers, our team chose namely Room 307, because of its exceptional pentagonal shape. On the right: DMT 100 by Proclaim Audio Works – these amazing speakers left literally breathless many of the visitors at the Expo, with both sound and concept. Each driver is shielded in fiber-glass box with compact sand core that isolates it from all resonances. The aluminum “arms” articulate in all directions allowing the listener to adjust the height, the positioning and direction of sound. The stereo-system included Wadia 521 I SE CD-player, PassLabs XP10 pre-amplifier, PassLabs X150.5 stereo-amplifier and cables by Kubala-Sosna and Audioquest. Next: the Italian Omni-directional loudspeakers Torre 3005 by Bolzano Villetri, powered by two Prima Luna Prologue Seven vacuum tube monoblock amplifiers, Prima Luna Prologue Three vacuum tube pre-amplifier and Prima Luna Prologue Eight vacuum tube CD-player. According to our team and a lot of visitors that heard the sound of Bolzano Villetri and Prima Luna, this system is among the most competitive stereo-systems regarding sound quality and price at Hi-Fi Expo 2010. On the left side – high-class carbon fiber gear – the German Physiks Carbon MK IV Omni-directional speakers with Bryston power! This is one of the stereo-systems we could proudly define as a spectacular view with remarkable sound capabilities. German Physiks has developed the unique technology called the DDD driver, which create a multi-dimensional 360˚ sound panorama. Thanks to the unconventional design and innovative approach the sound resolution is immaculate and music sounds livelier than ever. German Physiks use extremely low-resonant materials for constructing the boxes in luxurious finishes such as the Carbon Fiber finish. A pair of such an excellent speakers deserves reliable electronics of highest level, such as the Bryston 20-year warranted 7B SST monoblock amplifiers, BP 26 pre-amplifier, MPS-2 Power Supply and BCD-1 CD-player, accompanied by Kubala-Sosna and Audioquest cables.
And finally, at the left most, where Studio Electric’s Type Two aluminum speakers with their distinctive impressive design, combined with pair of BelCanto E.One M300 monoblock amplifiers, E.One Pre 3 pre-amplifier, E.One DAC 3 and E.One CD2 CD-player were exhilarating the most curios music lovers. Room 308 – Chrystal, diamond and ceramics! At the central spot: One of the most appreciated and admired configurations at Hi-Fi Expo 2010 presenting masterpieces by Mårten, Wadia and PassLabs – all reference components make the stereo-system a dream come truth. The Mårten Coltrane state-of-the-art loudspeakers, combined with one of the best CD-Players in the world – the Wadia 581 SE, the Wadia 521 Digital to Analog Converter and stereo amp by Pass Laboratories the XA350.5. On the Right – Crystalline Waterfall Victoria Evo, powered by Raysonik SE20MKII vacuum tube stereo-amplifier and Raysonik CD228 CD-player. Such configuration shows real passion for innovative design and colorful high-resolution sound stage. The team of Kirov High-End demonstrated Sonos Multi-room systems – the ZP90, the ZP 120 and the Standalone S5 ZonePlayer with CR200 Touchscreen Controller, that can easily replace CD-players even in the most expensive stereo-systems, without the use of computer, providing you with all the music you want and more than 25’000 internet radio stations completely wirelessly (!)… and free. At Hi-Fi Expo 2010 were shown also components by: Lyngdorf Audio, Kaleidescape, Art.Engine, JlAudio, Torus, Furman, TaraLabs, Rega, Black Noise, Music Tools, Grand Prix Audio and Lutron.
